WELCOME MESSAGE
The Sustainable Developmental Goals, adopted by the United Nations in 2015, includes SDG3 which aims to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages. This includes reduction of neonatal and under-5 mortality rates as well. Post-mortem of perinatal and pediatric deaths plays a major role in determining preventable causes of death and further development of preventive measures. However, ancillary investigations such as histopathology examination of organs also play a role in assisting forensic pathologist.
With this in mind, the organizing committee from the Department of Forensic Medicine, Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah, in collaboration with Malaysian Society Of Forensic Medicine And Science (MaSForMs) is proud to present the Forensic Aspect of Perinatal and Pediatric Histopathology Workshop.
Scheduled to take place on the 12th of October 2020 at the De Pulse Grande Hotel, Putrajaya, this workshop aims to improve and strengthen the knowledge of participants in viewing and interpretation of histopathology slide for common and frequent perinatal and pediatric death that occurring in our country. Additionally, the goal of this workshop is to encourage and provide exposure to participants who have special interest in paediatric forensic pathology. To that end, this workshop includes theoretical sessions for participants to familiarize and put into practice the knowledge and skills imparted during the workshop.
At the end of the workshop, we hope that participants will have a better grasp or understanding of the point at issue; and that the knowledge and skills obtained will lay the groundwork to brave the challenging future with excellence and confidence. The organizing committee conveys our appreciation in advance to all of you who are participating in making this workshop a success.
